Public IP and Location Lookup
See the public IP address used by this browser request. Run the lookup again after switching routes to compare the address and location.
Current Connection Details
Waiting for lookupJavaScript is required for lookups. If data isn’t available, each field will show “Temporarily unavailable.”
- Public IP
Temporarily unavailable- Country / Region
- Temporarily unavailable
- Internet Service Provider / ISP
- Temporarily unavailable
- Proxy detected

Copies only the public IP address, not the other lookup details.
Results apply only to this request and don’t show how every app on your device connects. This page doesn’t automatically detect DNS leaks.
What this information means
Public IP: the address websites see
The public IP is the network address seen by the lookup endpoint, not your device’s local network address. When a proxy is enabled and the browser request goes through the selected route, the lookup result will usually reflect that route’s IP. If the address hasn’t changed, first check that your client is connected, then confirm the browser request matches a proxy rule. Split-tunneling rules may send requests to this site over your local network.
Country, region, and ISP: information from IP databases
The country, region, and ISP are based on IP ownership data returned by the endpoint. IP databases may take time to update, and the ISP may be listed as the exit host or data center rather than your everyday internet provider. If the listed location doesn’t match the route name, consider the selected route, how the connection works in practice, and possible database discrepancies. A location label alone doesn’t mean the connection is faulty.
Proxy detection: an indicator, not a verdict
Proxy detection depends on the endpoint’s data and criteria. “No proxy detected” doesn’t mean you aren’t using a proxy, and “Proxy detected” says nothing definitive about connection quality. If the endpoint doesn’t explicitly return this field, this page shows “Temporarily unavailable” rather than treating missing data as a negative result. This indicator also can’t replace a privacy check or a test of access to a specific service.
Run a lookup before and after switching routes, using the same browser for both. These results describe requests to this site only. To check an app’s public IP, test it within that app.
DNS leak check
DNS translates domain names into network addresses. A change in public IP only shows that the lookup request took a different route; it doesn’t show where DNS requests went. Checking for DNS leaks requires resolver information, which this page’s endpoint doesn’t provide. So this page can’t confirm that a connection passes or is leak-free.
- Check your client’s DNS and routing settings. Make sure the proxy mode and DNS handling match your intended setup. Note the current configuration and check again after making changes. Avoid changing several options at once so you can identify the cause.
- Check your browser’s secure DNS settings. A browser may use a resolver independently of the operating system. Understand how this relates to your client’s DNS configuration. Differences between browser, system, and client settings don’t by themselves prove that a leak has occurred.
- Compare results with a tool that shows DNS resolvers. If you choose an external test tool, read its privacy policy first, then compare resolver information before and after connecting. A resolver’s location may differ from the public IP’s location, so don’t judge by country name alone.
- Pinpoint the issue in the affected app. Browser results don’t represent other apps. If a location looks wrong, check the app’s proxy rules, system DNS, and client connection status separately. For help, see Troubleshooting.
Lookup Privacy and Troubleshooting
VPN59 doesn’t log lookups. Requests go through our endpoint; this page doesn’t forward them to third-party public IP lookup services. The copy button only attempts to write to your clipboard when clicked; it doesn’t read clipboard contents.
If a result shows “Temporarily unavailable,” check your connection and try again, or switch routes and run the lookup again. If the endpoint fails, this page won’t substitute a sample address or automatically switch to an external service. An endpoint error doesn’t mean the proxy connection has failed.
